Today we welcome the talented and design-savvy Tanya Clark Home! Tanya’s showing us how incorporating happy pops of color and pattern into her decorating mix can transform a neutral interior into a personality-packed space.
It’s a new year and that means a fresh start! I wanted to bring that fresh start feeling into our home by adding pops of color and pattern to our décor. It’s easy to sometimes feel overwhelmed by color which is why many of us tend to lean towards neutrals: whites, tans, and grays. As much as I love neutral décor, our home really felt like it was lacking personality.
Now our kitchen feels so happy with these pretty bursts of yellow! When I saw these valances, it was love at first sight.
The buffalo check pattern is timeless and the tie-up detail is just adorable. The sunny yellow makes me smile every time I step in this room.
My best tip for using color in your home is to keep the big stuff neutral. I prefer to keep wall colors and furniture in basic shades while adding color to the room with curtains, pillows, and accessories.
These gorgeous Camellia Floral curtains bring a delicate, airy feel to our living room and help balance out our large couch. The Soft Linen pillows in Spice are a perfect match and the Colebrook pillows in Claret are the sweetest plaid print.
I mean, that pattern! The fabric hangs so beautifully and they let in just the right amount of light.
I couldn’t be happier with our new additions from Country Curtains! Now these rooms feel fresh, comfortable, and welcoming.
… and that’s a wonderful way to start off a new year!
