Crazy bargains. Sleep-deprived shoppers. Massive crowds. Black Friday can be overwhelming for even the savviest of shoppers if you show up the morning after Thanksgiving unprepared.
But have no fear, shopping warriors. The retail-savvy pros here at Country Curtains are here to help you manage your Black Friday shopping with ease.
Here are our favorite insider tips and tricks for the most hyped shopping day of the year:
Tip #1: No browsing allowed. Black Friday is not a good day for casual shopping. Do your research beforehand. Find the exact products that you want and the store that’s offering the best deal. And don’t forget to check out store websites to see if the item you want is available (at least before the crowds show up).
Tip #2: Map out your shopping route. Once you know the stores you want to visit, plan an efficient shopping route to maximize your time.
Tip #3: Bring store advertisements with you. Often stores have a “lowest price guarantee” and will match other store deals.
Tip #4: Shop smarter with a Black Friday app. These apps allow you to check deals at various stores, make lists, and share your finds. We like the TGI Black Friday app. And don’t forget other apps that will help you save money all year round, like the app from Retail Me Not.
Tip #5: Pack snacks. Seriously. A growling stomach will make you cranky and, let’s be honest, almost everyone is already a little bit cranky when they get up early and wait in long lines all day. A snack tucked into your purse will keep the positivity high.
Tip #6: Clear out your purse before you go. If you’re anything like us, your bag is filled with old receipts, loose change and seven tubes of lipstick (only one of which you actually use on a regular basis). Tidy up that purse so you can easily find what you need during the shopping madness. You also don’t want to be weighed down with a heavy purse while you’re sprinting through those aisles!
Tip #7: If all else fails, wait for Cyber Monday. There are always incredible deals found online after the holiday weekend – and they don’t require getting up early, waiting in lines or ending Thanksgiving dinner early.
