Like paint color or linens, curtains can make or break a room. So perfect curtain fit makes all the difference.
To make sure our customers achieve both their decorating visions and a flawless fit, we recently introduced our Hemming Service, a rare combination of expert work, affordability and speed. Available on most of our curtains, hemming adds about two weeks to delivery timing and an additional cost of $14.95 per unlined pair or $19.95 per lined pair to your order.
We could tell you about our meticulous craftsmanship, but thought it would be more fun to show you with an insider look at our careful, no-shortcut custom hemming process. So let’s step behind the curtain!
The same experts who craft most of our curtains also hem your curtains to the perfect length, in the same factory.
A team of two carefully measures each curtain and determines the minimum cut needed to give you a perfect hem based on your desired length. We never sacrifice quality by trading a precise cut for a steamed crease.
We then cut the fabric from the top or bottom, depending on the curtain style. For example, a curtain with a trim along the bottom is cut at the top. Grommet and pinch pleat curtains are cut from the bottom.
Once cut, the curtain goes to one of our professional seamstress at our workshop, who sews it to your desired length. We carefully match the original hem. If the curtain previously had a 4-inch hem, our expert gives it a 4-inch hem, making it impossible to tell the curtains have been altered.
Our factory houses a collection of more than 200 thread colors, guaranteeing the hemming thread is a spot-on color match to the original.
Once the hemming is complete and to our satisfaction, we send the curtains to you. Like all of our products, hemming comes with our Happiness Guarantee.
Need a custom curtain length? Start by determining your preferred length with our measurement guide. Select your curtains and size, and check the “Hem This Item” box. Once in your cart, specify your desired length. If you prefer, one of our window treatment experts can place your order, check your measurements or offer style advice.
